Spinal Operation

Post by Mad Mike on Wed Apr 01, 2009 3:51 am

Hi all, soz for the delay, but i've been having some probs with my back, which has been getting worse Sad
finally i have had my fusion op at stepping hill, done by Mr Kapoor & what a job he's done, it is so neat & tidy you can barly see how he did it.
the pain is something else & i am struggling to sit, i am assured it'll settle in a few weeks and i have to build up the muscles again so try sitting a few min's at a time.
it's too early to say one way or the other how it's gone, but before the op i got given decent odd's that i'll either be the same or better than before, not fixed but i should be comfy & be able to cut down on the meds!!
so here is the finished work ;-)

the op ended up different from planned, as the scans showed 3 discs gone but i got away with this new treatment as i was due to have a 6" rod with 8 pinning screws, which would have ment NO movement in the lower spine, now with this aproch i may have full movement again in the lower section.
will keep you all updated asap
oh and i will finish this site once i can sit long enough, but please get posting in the mean time.
Mike
